GE Measurement & Control Experts Present at American Gas Association Conference

BILLERICA, MASSACHUSETTS, USA- May 22, 2014- GE’s Measurement & Control business today announced the company will present two important papers at the American Gas Association, Operations Conference 2014Omni William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh, PA. The event is being held now through May 24, 2014.

The annual AGA Operations Conference is the natural gas industry’s premier gathering of natural gas utility and transmission company operations management from across North America and the world. The conference focuses on sharing technical knowledge, ideas and practices to promote the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of natural gas to the end-user.

GE will present the following papers at the event:

  • TDLAS With Gas Composition Desensitization
Abstract: Variation in background gas is to be expected in natural gas applications. This paper explores the spectroscopy analytics used to desensitize TDLAS measurement to changes in background gas, while still providing a direct measurement of trace moisture.
Presenter: Julia Graber, Senior Product Manager, GE Measurement & Control
  • Aluminum Oxide, a Perfect Complement to Tunable Diode Lasers in Moisture Measurement in Natural Gas
Abstract: This paper highlights how traditional aluminum oxide (AlOx) sensor-based analyzers complement the newer tunable diode laser (TDL) technologies in the measurement of moisture in natural gas dehydration applications. AlOx technology brings range of measurement advantages and the ability to make the moisture measurement at process pressures, while TDL brings speed of response and accuracy. These two technologies can complement one another for maximum benefit.
Presenter: Narge Sparages, Product Marketing & Commercial Leader, GE Measurement & Control
