AES Brasil Names GE Measurement & Control Best Supplier for Power Generation for the Second Year

Longmont, Colo. - March 9, 2015 - GE’s (NYSE: GE) Measurement & Control business announced that AES Brasil named it the “Best Supplier in 2014 for the Power Generation Sector”. This is the second consecutive year the team has won this award.

AES, through its various subsidiaries across the region, is one of GE’s premier controls customers in Latin America, with a primary focus on unit control upgrades. AES was GE’s first customer in Brazil to install a complete Mark VIe Hydro Industrial Control System (ICS). The award was based on work led by GE Measurement & Control’s Control Solutions product line.

In 2014, GE’s specific projects included the completion of the full automation of the Pardo river power plants: Limoeiro, Euclides, Caconde and Mogi. GE’s Controls Solutions business line successfully integrated the operations of the river basin cascade, with a palpable improvement of the system availability and reliability.

“The most important goal for us has always been customer satisfaction – keeping the customer coming back,” said Glaucio Sansevero, Sales Manager, GE Measurement & Control, a division of GE Oil & Gas. “Even when there are problems or bumps in the process, we come together to correct and adjust, with a positive customer outcome always in sight. This award is confirmation from the customer that we were able to execute and deliver.”

AES works with thousands of suppliers, and 181 were eligible for the award. To determine the winner, AES used a system called the IDF - Supplier Performance Index, which evaluates criteria related to health & safety, service, quality, delivery, productivity level and treatment of environmental and social impacts. Since 2011, the IDF has evolved into a tool that enables greater efficiency and discipline in managing AES Brazil contracts. In addition, it encourages transparency and closeness between AES and its suppliers. “It is a great honor to be recognized by AES Brasil again and our entire team is proud of this achievement,” said Sansevero. “We know that customers determine our success, and the teamwork and attention to customer needs came from everyone in the Brazil Campinas office.”
