Enhanced connectivity enables operation-wide condition monitoring and diagnostics through a single software solution
MINDEN, NEV.— September 15, 2015—GE’s (NYSE: GE) Measurement & Control business today introduced new condition monitoring and diagnostics products that offer a holistic view of asset health through integrated hardware and software at the 44th Turbomachinery and 31st Pump Symposia. The launch of the latest version of Bently Nevada’s System 1 Evolution software enables online condition monitoring for highly critical equipment.
This next generation software delivers on GE’s vision for the Industrial Internet to connect people, data and machines to avoid unplanned downtime. It seamlessly integrates with GE Bently Nevada’s permanently installed monitoring devices; including the 3500 monitoring system and 3701 ADAPT product family to effectively manage asset health. This release expands the capability of the software to include phase one turbomachinery support, where high-resolution alarm and startup/shutdown data captures and diagnostics play a critical role in machinery management. System 1 Evolution’s new level of operation-wide asset coverage will help customers increase productivity and mitigate operational risks.
In addition, the all new SCOUT200 Series portable data collectors enable data taken from equipment on a route-based monitoring program to be analyzed and transformed into actionable information. Fully supported by System 1 Evolution condition monitoring and diagnostic software, the SCOUT200 series integrates with Bently Nevada monitoring products for a comprehensive condition monitoring solution.
The SCOUT200 series products are comprised of a data collector that connects to an industrial Android smartphone which runs a mobile Collector App. With this mobile functionality, operators can now collect vibration data, take pictures, send text messages, check email, make phone calls and run other apps all on a single device. The Collector App exchanges data with System 1 Evolution via Wi-Fi or a cellular network. This deeply integrated solution provides owners and operators with a complete understanding of asset conditions and maintenance needs. The SCOUT200 series products are available as intrinsically safe with hazardous area ratings.
