GE Announces Fifth Generation Dedicated DPI612 Flex Series of Pressure Calibrators 54 KB

Robust, easy-to-use instrument combines pressure generation, signal measurement and loop power in advanced Druck calibrator

Groby, UK – September 14, 2015 — GE Measurement & Control today announced the new DPI612 Flex Series of Pressure Calibrators, the next generation of GE’s Druck calibrators, that combine pressure generation, signal measurement and loop power in a single instrument. Like the DPI611, these calibrators are robust and easy to use, with the additional functionality of interchangeable pressure modules that allow simple in-the-field re-ranging. The DPI612 Flex Series is the latest addition to GE’s integrated calibration and communication solutions platform and is designed for use throughout the process, oil and gas, power generation and general engineering sectors.

“In addition to offering interchangeable pressure modules for flexible ranging, these fully self-contained pressure test and calibration systems generate pneumatic or hydraulic pressures, measure process signals and supply loop power,” explains Mike Shelton, product manager at GE Measurement & Control. “They provide all the convenience of the Druck DPI 610/615 series with significantly improved generation capabilities, higher accuracy and simplified touch screen operation.”

Available in three different products and pressure options (from 95% vacuum to 20 bar/300 psi, from 95% vacuum to 100 bar/1500 psi and from 0 to 1000 bar/15000 psi), the DPI612 pFlex and pFlexPro versions provide pneumatic pressure generation whereas the DPI612 hFlex uses hydraulic generation. On the pneumatic versions a simple selector lets users convert from vacuum to pressure and, with a few stokes of the pump, generate the required pressure. The hydraulic version incorporates an internal fluid reservoir and a priming pump to expel air from the system. Once primed, pressure is generated very quickly with the highly efficient intensifier.  

Using Druck’s advanced silicon technology, the digitally corrected pressure sensor achieves up to 0.005% FS precision. The DPI612 Flex also has comprehensive electrical measurement and sourcing capabilities along with 24V and 10V power suppliers to energize test devices.

The new DPI612 Flex Series is both simple to use and powerful and comes with full documenting capabilities to automate calibration procedures such as PASS/FAIL indication and error calculation. They connect with either GE’s own calibration software or other common commercial calibration software packages so that the results can be easily fed into plant management software.
